I hope you all had a better week than we did. Our girls had the flu, but miraculously, my husband and I stayed healthy. There is nothing worse than taking care of sick kids when you are sick yourself! We were housebound for eight days, so we are ready for some family fun out and about this weekend.

You can drink delicious beer at the new location, eat pizza at Gaines Street Pies, and check out the karaoke and discounted haircuts at Chop. There will also be live music outside to boogie to.

Parent’s night out
Ooh I could use this after this past week! will have a Parent’s Night Out this Friday evening to benefit their Warriors Cheer Team. Kids aged 5-11 can come and hang out, eat pizza and cotton candy, and participate in safe, supervised activities.

One of my all-time favorite books is "James and the Giant Peach." I read it over and over with a flashlight in my Cabbage Patch Kids bed tent. This weekend you can see the adaptation of James and the Giant Peach JR. presented by , starring kids of all abilities. Maybe Auntie Sponge and Auntie Spiker aren’t as creepy in the JR. version?

Be my neighbor
We have just about grown out of Daniel Tiger in our house, but this is still a fun event for all. WFSU and the City of Tallahassee will present Be My Neighbor Day 2020 this Saturday morning. Meet Daniel Tiger, ride Trolley, craft and explore with community partners in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe in Kleman Plaza. There will also be some sweet treats to enjoy to celebrate WFSU’s 60th birthday.

Math is fun
Join FSU faculty, staff and student volunteers for their annual Math Day event this Saturday in the Love Building on the main campus. This all ages event is free and open to the public and will feature demos, presentations, workshops, activities and all around math fun.
